“ I have always loved this place because of the good wine, pretty interior and lovely ambience. Came back again tonight at 10pm and had a glass of wine with a friend and just to take in the atmosphere of this place. They do wine on tap as well, and are surprisingly really good! Lighting is perfect for a quiet and chilled evening, and the interior is just so chic. Absolutely loved it - and would definitely come back for some Saturday/Sunday brunch in the future. Oh, the staff members are all so friendly and nice, got chatting to a few of them in our 1 hour in the restaurant. They also have a little wine shop section and you can also sign up for wine tasting. Needless to say, I will be back. Highly recommend. ”
“ I have to admit, I mainly went to this restaurant because of the building it’s in but it actually turned out to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had in London. All of the food was excellent and especially the duck confit pie, which was amazing. I only visit London once a year but when I do so next year this place will be at the top of my must see restaurants list. ”
“ Generous portion of sourdough bread, but I didn’t find the bread or butter, tasty. The black cod was excellent, it was cooked, just right and tender, however the surface was a little too charred ”
“ A lovely restaurant with a good team providing a great dining experience. The stand out dish for me was the duck, truly excellent. The pie and scallop dishes were good too ”
“ One of my great joys of London dining is taking people to Porte Noire for the first time. A concise and regularly evolving menu, phenomenal wine selection and excellent service. Can't recommend this Coal Drops highlight strongly enough. ”
“ Located in the iconic grade II Gasholder building with a good view of the canal. Service is great. Staff makes good recommendation of food and wine pairing Food is fantastic. Chickpea chips(fries) are to die for and complemented by delicious garlic aioli sauce. Grilled Iberico pork pluma is delicious-the pork is grilled to a medium well done and is coated with salt and spices. The merlot 2019 on tap was good value and goes well with the food. Atmosphere is dark and comfortable. One of the few places with window seats as it has a decent view. ”
“ Fabulous evening had here. The service team were so hospitable and efficient. Always attentive and never invasive. My friends and I had a wonderful evening catching up over delicious food and wine (amazing selection)... we were all raving about the place even after A LOT of wine. Sign of a great evening out. Recommended!!! ”
“ Popped in for a glass of wine, beautifully designed space. Great attentive service. Good for people watching. Lots of wines by the glass. I didn’t eat. I liked that it wasn’t as rammed as a lot of Coal Drop Yard places. A more sophisticated venue. Only down side was Idris Elba wasn’t there. That was a joke. ”
